It is the tradition of Agarwal families belonging to Rajasthan to celebrate Diwali grandly.  Celebrations start from the day of Ekadasi. Diwali is celebrated for 5 days in Rajasthan.  Dhanteras which comes on ‘trayodasi’ two days before diwali is celebrated with gaiety by the families of Agarwals.  They close the old account books on the day before ‘Dhanteras’ and starts new accounts.  They worship the God of Money, Kuber.  And they compulsorily buy gold or silver as per their capacity.  They give preference to buy silver or gold coins which have Goddess Lakshmi or Lord Ganesh on it.  They decorate the houses with diyas which are in various shapes, attractively on Diwali day. Agarwals burn crackers after completing the pujas.  They distribute sweets to their customers and well wisher on the next day. These people celebrate Diwali believing that this is the day when Lord Rama came back from forests.  People welcome Rama with Diyas.
