Acharya NG Ranga Agricultural University is offering UG, PG and PHD courses relating to agricultural field, in our state. Admissions into under graduation courses are based on the merit in EAMCET. Along this university some agricultural polytechnics are offering diploma courses. National wide- Indian Council for Agricultural Research (deemed university under the ministry of agriculture) is conducting All India Entrance examination for admission to degree and PG programs (AIEEA-UG, AIEEA-PG) for under graduate and post graduate courses. By this entrance they will fill up 15% of the seats in state agricultural university and 100% seats in other in popular institutes like Indian Agriculture Research Institute and National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI).


Date for written Exam: 17th April, 2010.

Eligibility: A minimum of 50% of marks (40% for SC/ST/PH) in 10+2 or equivalent exam with physics, chemistry, biology/mathematics/agriculture/home sciences as main subjects.

National Talent Scholarship: Those students who are selected on the basis of written exam and got admission in other states universities (Not being his native state) will get a scholarship of Rs.1, 000 p.m

Institutes offering: 15% of the seats in state agricultural university and 100% seats in national dairy research institute will be filled up.

Examination Procedure: Exam will be in objective type in both English and Hindi medium in the subjects of Maths, Science (Stream �A, Stream-B) separately. There will be 180 questions. Each question carries 4 marks to the total of 720 marks. There will be negative marking also. One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

Stream-A (Agricultural Biology): Exam will be conducted in the subjects of Physics, chemistry biology/agriculture. Admission will be given in the courses of agriculture, horticulture, forestry, fisheries, home science, sericulture, biotechnology and food sciences.

Stream-B (Mathematics): Exam will be in Physics, chemistry and mathematics. Admission will be given into courses like agricultural engineering, dairy technology, biotechnology, food sciences, agricultural marketing, banking and cooperation.


Written test: 18th April, 2010.

Eligibility: Bachelor degree in the respective subjects in 10+2+3/4/5 format. Those applying for M.V.Sc should have completed B.V.Sc.

Institutes that offer: 100% seats in Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Indian Veterinary Research Institute, Central Institute of Fisheries Education, National Dairy Research Institute. 25% seats in State Agricultural Universities, Central Agricultural Universities, Banaras Hindu University, Viswabharathi, and Nagaland University.

Examination Procedure: Question paper will of 650 marks in the respective subjects in multiple choice and cross matching format. 150 questions will be there in multiple choices. 600 marks are allocated at 4 marks for each question. There will be negative marking. One mark will be deducted for every wrong answer. 10 Questions will be there in cross matching. There are 5 sub questions in this. Every question carries 1 marks coming to a total of 50 marks. There is also negative marking. 0.2 marks will be deducted for every wrong answer.

JRF: 475 Junior Research Fellowships in 20 subjects are given. If selected veterinary science students will get Rs.12, 000 p.m. and other subject students will get Rs.8640 p.m as fellowship for two years.

Opportunities: In the scenario where there is growing prominence for agricultural industry, there are ample opportunities for the students of this arena in both government and private sectors. They can appear for the exam in Indian Forest Services which is considered as most reputed in the country. Along with the corporate companies like Rallies, Monsanto and ITC banks like Andhra Bank, OBC and Bank of Baroda are also recruiting agricultural students. They have opportunities in different research laboratories and institutes. There is also much demand for the students who have done the agricultural related courses.

Along with the application printout, a DD should be attached taken in the name of �Deputy Director General (Education), ICAR, New Delhi� payable at Delhi for Rs. 500-PG students; Rs.250 -SC/ST/PH students; Rs.400-UG students; Rs.200-SC/ST/PH students.
