Annie Besant â€“ the lady behind the home rule | Annie Besant established Central Hindu college in Banaras in India
We all remember the home rule when we think of Annie Besant and she was born in October 1st, 1847 in Britain. She settled in India and died in 1933. She took the responsibilities as the president of national congress party of India from 1917. She wrote many essays on women rights and on marriages in news papers when she stayed in Britain. The essays written by her on the slavery of women had shown much impact. She had abolished the daily labor of women and she provided free food for the children who are suffering from lack of vitamins and proteins in their food, when she was elected for board of London school. She had established central Hindu college in Banaras in India and she taught Sanskrit literature, English literature and Indian history.
