Apply for ration card in Delhi

 

All the persons who are residing or want to do so in National capital territory of Delhi can apply for Household consumer Card which is also called the Permanent Ration Card.   They should not have a ration card on their name or in the name of their family members.

Application form for obtaining new ration card in Delhi shall be made in Form no. 1 and this is available on payment of 50 paisa.   Application forms for blue ration cards are available for free. These applications can also be downloaded from the website.

Documents that are to be submitted along with the application for ration card in Delhi are three passport size photographs of head of the family which are to be attested by gazette officer/Municipal councilor/MP or MLA; owners of house shall submit registration deed, power of attorney, house tax receipt as residence proof and tenants have to submit NOC of landlord and Surrender certificate of the previous card. If residence proof is not available, the Circle FSO records statements of two neighbors of the applicant.   The time schedule for issuing ration cards is 15 days.

New members can also be added to the existing ration cards in Delhi.   For this the application has to be made on Form no. 2.   This has to be submitted to the Circle office along with existing ration card.   Deletion of names can be done by submitting the form no.2.   The deletion process will take only one day. For making any changes in the ration card, applicant can submit their application in Form 3 and the amendment will be done within 7 days from receiving the application.

Ration cards issued to the residents of Delhi shall be surrendered when they leave Delhi or shift residence.   For this the application if Form – J.   Surrender certificate will be issued to the applicant on the same day.   Tatkal ration card scheme was launched by NCT of Delhi for the convenience of the public.   A prescribed processing fee will be collected to issue the ration card within two days from receiving the application.   This is not applicable to foreign nationals.   Applications for Tatkal ration cards are available in AC offices, circle offices, headquarters and the department’s website.   The application shall be deposited in the Zonal Assistant commissioner’s office and the ration card will be issued within two days.   Rent receipt, electricity/water/telephone bill, registration deed, house tax receipts, gas connection receipt etc are the required documents that shall be submitted along with the application form.

Applicants who are applying for new, addition or deletion of names in existing card or applying for duplicate card in Delhi under Tatkal scheme will have to pay a processing fee of Rs. 100 for which he will be given a receipt in the concerned office.
