Assistant Social Welfare Officer Exam Details

Graduates in any discipline are eligible to apply for Assistant Social welfare Officer posts.       A written test will be conducted for the existing 24 vacancies by APPSC on 30th September, 2012.       Pay scale for the posts is Rs. 14, 860 – 39,540.       Age of the candidate should be between 18 and 36 as on 1st July, 2011.       Selection of candidates will be based on a written test.       Written test will contain two papers.       One is General studies and mental ability paper in which 150 questions will be asked for 150 marks.       Time given for to answer this paper is 150 minutes.       Paper – 2 is subject paper which will also contain 150 questions and each question carries two marks.

Syllabus for Assistant Social Welfare Officer exam

In paper – 2 of Assistant Social Welfare Officer exam, many topics related to Indian history has been included.       Indus Valley civilization, Jain, Buddha and other religions, Caste system, Magadha, Gandhara , Mathura, art of sculpting, Mahayana, Influence of Islam on Indian culture, Bhakthi movement, Arts, literature, architecture, Vijayanagara kingdom-Fine arts, Culture, Mughals, Freedom movement, Various stages in Indian national movement etc are the topics in which questions can be expected.       The questions will be in degree level.

In paper – 2 of Assistant Social Welfare Officer exam, Andhra Pradesh history is also a part of the syllabus.       Satavahanas, East Chalukyas, Social, cultural situations during 1000 AD and 1565 AD in Andhra Pradesh, modern history of Andhra Pradesh, Asaf jahi Sultans, Telangana armed struggle etc are the important topics.       In section – 3 of Paper – 2, questions will be from Indian constitution, basic rights, relation between central and state governments of India, Three level Panchayath Raj system, 73 and 74 constitutional amendments.       Paper – 2 of Assistant Welfare Officer Exam will contain 6 sections.       Applicants will have to study the topics like Indian planning system, poverty, unemployment, government revenue, Land reforms after independence, Five year plans in Andhra Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh economy etc.

Applications for Assistant Welfare Officer exam should be sent in online mode between 30th July and 30th August, 2012. Fee has to be paid before 28th August, 2012.
