Many people have the dream of starting their career in banking.  And if the career can be started in the officer cadre, there would be no other better opportunity to climb the success ladder.  Bank of India has released a notification to recruit Probationary Officers in large numbers. Submit the application and start the preparation.

Total number of vacancies/reservations

Total number of vacancies are 2,000.  There are 1010 vacancies under general category, 300 under SC category, 15 vacancies under ST category and 540 for OBC category.  There are vacancies ear marked for physically handicapped also.  60 for orthopedic, 20 each for visual and hearing impaired.  But the selected candidates will be listed finally according to their social category.

Application fees – Rs.400 for all the general candidates and there is an exception in fees for SC, ST and physically handicapped candidates.  The age of the candidates should be between 21 and 30.  There is a 5 year relaxation in age for SC, ST candidates and 3 years for OBC candidates.  For physically handicapped, additional 10 years relaxation is given.  That means 15 years relaxation for SC, ST physically handicapped candidates and 13 years for OBC candidates.

Eligibility:  Candidate should be an Indian.  Should have completed graduation from a recognised University with 60% marks.  Computer knowledge will be an additional qualification.

Selection procedure: Selections are through a written test and an interview.  Written test is of one hour duration.  It consists of current affairs, communication skills.  Test is for 100 marks.  Candidates who qualify in the test will have to face an interview.  Maximum marks for the interview are 100.  General category candidates should secure at least 50% marks in the interview and SC, ST, OBC and physically handicapped candidates should get 45% marks.  Candidates will be called for interview in the ratio of 1:3.  Exam date is 30th October.

Candidates will have to carefully check the eligibility conditions prescribed by the Bank.  Bank authorities reserved every decision regarding an applicant from application to interview.  Personal verification is not allowed.  The candidature of the applicant will be cancelled if it is proved that certificates are not original.  Candidates have to register themselves online.
