Indian railways have announced a special package for Ayyappa devotees.  This package includes visiting five other pilgrim centers along with Sabarimalai.  A special train ‘Bharat Darshan Rail’ will start on 7th January, 2011 at 04.00am from Hyderabad railway station and at 04.30 at Secunderabad railway station.

Indian Railway has introduced ‘Bharat Darshan Rail’ in three zones which enables even poor people to visit all the places and pilgrim centers in India.  This train has been brought to Hyderabad for the convenience of Ayyappa devotees of Andhra Pradesh.   Half of the travel expenses will be borne by the railway department.  Journey is free for children under 5 years.

Rs. 4,620 for seven day yatra

Indian Railways are charging only Rs.4,620 for this yatra which would have costed not less than Rs.10,00 otherwise.  Food, Accommodation, travelling, road transport and guide charges are all included in the charges.  Number SZBD – 63 train will begin its journey from Secunderabad on 7th December,2010 and will return to the city on 12th December, 2010.  It stops at Nalgonda, Nadikudi, Guntur, Ongole, Nellore, Gudur and Renigunta stations.

Places that would be visited in the yatra

Not only the Ayyappa devotees who took up deeksha but also other devotees also can visit Sabarimalai under this package. Yatra includes visit to Chotanikkarai, Sabarimalai, Madhura Meenakshi, Rameswaram and Kanyakumari.  Those who cannot go to Sabarimalai can visit the pleasant places like Cochin, Ernakulum in Kerala.

How to book tickets under this package

This special train ‘Bharat Darshan’ will have seven bogies and only 450 sleeper class berths.  Berths can be reserved online through www. railtourismindia.com. Tickets can also be obtained from IRCTC office in Secunderabad and Rail tourism counter in Reservation complex.  Passengers can call 97013-60693 for further information.
