BITS is the institution which is the leading institute in engineering education and any advancement are seen very easily. Theory and practicals are given equal importance in BITS. BITS is the first institution which conducted online entrance exam in India. It was started in Pilani in Rajasthan and now it is having braches in Goa and Hyderabad. Students who are joining in IITs and NITs are facing the problem of stress and BITS students are enjoying their course. They are not stressed a lot.

BITSAT 2011 exam nature

BITSAT exam will be conducted online and it is not tough for the rural area candidates. They can simply answer the question by the operation of mouse or keyboard. If the students are not having the knowledge of mouse/ keyboard, they can visit few internet centers and learn the basics. Many mock tests can be written online after applying for BITS exam. All the systems in the hall will be connected to the main server and different question papers will be given to everyone. All the papers contain tough, easy and medium level questions. This will test the knowledge of all the students in the same way.

There is no time limit for the different categories and required amount of time can be taken by the students. Answers once marked can be changed again and students can move the paper up and down in the exam. Student who will answer all the questions will be 12 bonus questions. 4 questions from each physics, chemistry and mathematics will be given. There are chances of getting extra marks if the students can answer the bonus questions.

Negative marking in BITSAT

There is negative marking in BITSAT and so candidate should answer the question only when he/ she knows the answer. Correct answer is given 3 marks and wrong answer is deducted one mark. It is better to leave the questions which are unknown. Question paper will be in English medium and candidate should take only pen to the examination hall. Calculators, logarithm tables and cell phones are not allowed into the examination hall. There will be web cameras to know the behavior of the student in the examination hall and so any malpractice should not be done.

Eligibility for BITSAT

BITSAT 2011 is conducted for the students to admit them into Integrated BE (honors), M.Sc (honors) and M.Sc (B.Tech). Candidates who qualified intermediate in 2010 and who are attending 2011 examinations are eligible. People who qualified intermediate in 2009 or before are not eligible. Candidates should have minimum of 60% marks in physics, chemistry and mathematics individually and minimum of 80% marks in total. M.Sc is the four year integrate program which is studied after intermediate. There are extra seats in BITSAT -2011 and the students who are toppers in the intermediate or in central examinations are given direct admissions.

Preparation tips for BITSAT

BITSAT is conducted based on NCERT 11th and 12th books and so any candidate should compulsory study NCERT books. Candidates who are entering for BITSAT exam should concentrate on English and logical reasoning. Candidates won’t concentrate on English and reasoning as they are not considered in other exams. 25 questions in BITSAT will be asked from this section and so concentration is required in this field. These two fields decide the rank of the candidate.

Right time to write BITSAT

BITSAT online exam is conducted from May 11th, 2011 to June 10th, 2011. It is better to write the exam after 15 days after EAMCET exam. This gap will help the students to study reasoning and English. It is better to write more number of online exams and students will know all varieties of questions.
Seat is confirmed in BITSAT

BITSAT is not so tough and the cut off marks for computer science, electronics and mechanical branches are 76%, 73% and 73%. Cut off marks for the remaining branches is less than 70%.
