Obtaining caste certificates in Delhi

 

Persons who are residing in Delhi from 20.9.1951 can obtain caste certificate for themselves and their children in the following procedure.

  • Concerned authority for issuing caste certificate is the SDM of concerned area. There is also the facility of submitting the applications online.
  • Application form for obtaining caste certificate should be attested by MLA, MP, Municipal Councilor or Gazetted officer. Xerox copy of ration card or any other proof of residence has to be submitted. Birth certificate or TC as a date of birth proof has to be submitted.
  • Oath commissioner/notary public issued affidavit that contains the name, father name, residential address etc should also be submitted for obtaining caste certificate.
  • No fee is charged for the issuing of caste certificate in Delhi.
  • Verification of details can be avoided if any of the family members of the applicant has already taken the caste certificate.
  • For married women, local inquiry is done both at the place of her mother and at the place of residence where she is staying after marriage.
