All the persons who belong to the caste/class listed in Uttaranchal Anukulan Avam Upantaran Order 2001 and all those who belong to Caste/class amended by the government in Schedule-1 of aforesaid Act are eligible to apply for the caste certificate in Uttar Pradesh.

Application for obtaining caste certificate in cities like Lucknow, Allahabad, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh has to be put up to the Tehsildar on all working days in prescribed formats.  A receipt will be given to the applicant.

Documents that are necessary for applying to caste certificate in Uttar Pradesh are the Gram Pradhan/Ward member certificate, affidavit about caste and creamy layer for OBC candidates, Court fee stamp of Rs. 1.50 which should be pasted on the proforma.  On receipt of the application, the local Lekhpal or Revenue Inspector will issue the caste certificate within one week.
