CBTE Exam (Combined Bio Technology Entrance Exam) | How to apply for CBTE | Applications

It is common in every students career that when there came the time to choose the career subject in the higher studies and there arises many options in the mind as well as in the discussion. The discussion will be very strong in case of the Biology subject and that to in the Bio Technology course. If it is with the bio technology course there are many institutions that are offering the course in the MSc and MTech levels. Among all the institutes the Jawaharlal Nehru University of Delhi is very famous and is conducting the entrance examination for the course every year. The name of the entrance examination is called as Combined Bio Technology Entrance Examination. The examination is conducted in the month of May 20, 2010 and the centers for the entrance examination are Hyderabad, Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Chennai, Bangalore, and Bhubaneswar.

The prior course that is conducted is the MSc Bio Technology program. In order to apply for the course the candidate must have completed the entrance examination and the examination is conducted in around 30 institutes and it is conducted by the University of Hyderabad.

Eligibility: The candidates who wish to join in the course are supposed to have 55% of marks in the subjects like physical/ biology/ agricultural veterinary/ fishery sciences/ engineering/ technology and four years BSc with Physician Assistant Course in the bachelors’ degree or eligibility in the BDS course. Besides this the candidates who are eligible in the exam conducted in the year 2008 and the candidates who are eligible in the next year examination can apply for the course. But the candidates who passed before the year 2008 are not eligible to apply for the course.

The second is the MTech in Bio Technology and at present three reputed institutions are offering the course. The basic qualifications that are required to apply for the course is 60% of marks in B.Tech/ BE Chemical Engineering/ Biochemical engineering/ industrial bio technology/ leather technology/ chemistry/ bio technology/ bio medical engineering/ B pharmacy/ chemical technology or M.Sc bio technology/ life sciences/ botany/ zoology/ bio chemistry/ micro biology/ genetics/ bio physics/ microbial genetics/ bio informatics with biology/ aquatic biology and fisheries/ environmental bio technology  can join in the University of Science and Technology.

The fee structure depends on the type of the university and at the same time the university offers scholarships to the eligible candidates through bio technology department. The candidates who wish to apply for the course are supposed to take a DD of Rs.260 in the favor of Jawaharlal Nehru University payable at The Section Officer (Admissions), Room No: 28, Administrative Block, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi- 110067 and the candidates can get the applications directly by paying Rs. 250 till March 15, 2010. The filled applications are to be sent before March 15, 2010. This is a joint test for all the three subjects which are mentioned above.
