Few institutions are providing diploma in diagnostic and radiotherapy courses. The duration of these courses is from 2 months to 2 years. Medical records technology, intensive care technology and diploma in operation theatre course are provided by Apollo institute of hospital and management and allied sciences (AIMAS) in association with Alagappa University.


They should complete 10+2 or equivalent in science group.

Post graduation course:

They generally study up to graduation in this course and there are people who complete masters and PhD. those who want to do post graduation should do graduation in this course. Post graduation of medical education and research in Chandigarh and medical technology in radiology are providing M.Sc. those who are interested in research can do research after completing PG courses.

Experts in radiography are called as diagnostic radiographers in Britain and are called as radiological technologists in America. In India based on the device they operate, they are called as city scan technicians and MRI technicians. Those who have completed certificate/diploma work as assistants to radiography experts.


In hospital: those who have completed degree in this field can earn from Rs.10000 to Rs.15000 per month. Based on their experience they may earn from Rs.40000 to Rs.60000 per month. To grow in this field they need to develop their job skills from time to time. They start their carrier as assistants for radiographers and they earn from Rs.3000 to Rs.6000. those who have completed post graduation may earn upto Rs.20000 as starting salary. Most of the medical colleges in India are providing certificate and diploma courses. So there is a need for lecturers in these colleges to teach above given courses and they may earn more than Rs.20000 as per government rules. Those who are research side may get jobs in companies.
