Common Admission Test (CAT) entrance test preparation | Exam pattern, syllabus and the three divisions of CAT exam

IIM institutions are the prestigious institutions for Management studies.  Common Admission Test (CAT) Notification for admission in to these institutions has already been issued.  Latest specializations like Software Enterprise Management and Agri Business Management are available in IIMs.  The score in CAT is considered for admission into various Private Business Schools.  CAT preparation is beneficial for other Management Entrance Exams.

IIM institutions have decided to conduct CAT exam for one month.  Last year these were conducted only for 10 days.  The exam was not held in many centers because of some technical problems.  So more number of days is allotted for the exam and precautionary measures are being taken so that the problems are not repeated this year.

CAT exam consists 3 divisions.  They are Quantitative ability, Verbal Ability and Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning.  20 questions will be there in each division.  Time given for the test is 2 hours 15 minutes.  Negative marking is there for wrong answers.  Candidates have to secure cut off marks in each division.  So the candidates have to show their talent in all the three divisions.
