Dental Course – eligibility, Government jobs- opportunities for Dental surgeons

There is a great demand for dental people and the number of dental colleges had increased in the state. There were only two government colleges in the past and now there are 3 government and 18 private colleges in the association with NTR Health University. There are dental hospitals in every district and every area and so they have included the dental treatment in every multinational hospital.

Course – eligibility:

They should pass the intermediate with 50% marks in BiPC and they should get good rank in EAMCET. Then they are applicable for the BDS course. There are 180 seats in 3 government colleges, 6 seats in army dental hospital and 1650 seats in 18 private colleges. In these, 186 seats in government colleges and 970 seats in private colleges are given under health university conveyor quota. Along with this course, there are Para dental, dental technician and dental hygienist courses in Hyderabad.

The admissions are based on the merit in intermediate and the    seats are given under three categories in Health University. They should pay Rs.40000 as fee under category A and Rs.1, 10,000 under category B.  The fee for the category C is Rs.200000 which is decided by the government. They conduct the counseling in the last week of July and the related notification is given before the last date of this month.

Government jobs- opportunities for Dental surgeons:

There are only 33 dental surgeon posts in the state from 1993 to 2000 and in the past six years government had increased this number to 400. And now presently, they are also posting in the 30 public health centers. The salary of the government doctors if from Rs.25000 to Rs.30000 and they are more in the private hospitals.
