What are the details of the dual degree B-Tech and M-Tech from JNTUH? | Reasons for providing the B-Tech and M-Tech integrated course with foreign university
The Jawaharlal Nehru technological university in Hyderabad had introduced the new dual degree course in engineering. It had introduced the integrated dual degree course in engineering and it had made an agreement with the BTH institute in Sweden. The specialty of the course is that the course is available only in five countries all over the world. There will be 50 seats in the B.Tech-M.Tech and they are providing three courses under this course. The JNTUH is only the university in India which is providing the integrated course with the foreign institute. This course is a good opportunity for the people who want to excel in the teaching and do the course in a foreign university. The admissions are already for the year 2010 and they are trying to increase the number of seats from next year as they had got good response.
What is dual process?
Most of the students will be in job trails after completing their B-Tech and there are mainly two reasons for this attitude of the students. They should spend two more years in the academics and they should get a good rank to do further studies. This may lead to the deficiency of the engineering lecturers in the future. So the JNTUH had introduced the dual degree course which gives the B.Tech and M.Tech degree for five years. The university had made the agreement with the second developed country in information technology which is Sweden. Even though there are dual degrees provided by the IIT, IIITs in India, this is the first time where the dual degree is provided with the help of the foreign university. They are providing the opportunity for the students to study abroad through this course.
What are the courses?
There are three branches available in the dual degree course provided by JNTUH and Sweden university and they are
- B.Tech ECE: M.Tech in telecommunication systems. Seats: 20
- B.Tech and M.Tech in computer science : seats:15
- B.Tech CSE and M.Tech in SE: seats :15
Hyderabad to Sweden:
There will be total of ten semesters where the first seven semesters should be studied in Hyderabad University and remaining three in the BTH University in Sweden. They should not discontinue the course and they should study for five years. The fee for each year is decided as two lakhs and the total amount for five years is ten lakhs. The travelling and accommodation charges in the Sweden University will be included in the fee.
The faculty exchange is arranged on order to exchange the lecturers from here to there and from Sweden to India. The lecturers from BTH will teach for a period of 2 to 8 weeks in India and the importance is given for the research of the students in Sweden.
No tension for the jobs:
There is no tension about the jobs after the completion of the course and the BTH University in Sweden is providing the jobs in the companies like Volvo and other popular IT companies. The JNTUH is helping the students with the placements from the companies like IBM, TCS, and ADP etc.
Why only with BTH?
There are many reasons for providing the dual degree course with the foreign university even though the university is providing few dual degree courses by itself. The main reason for the dual degree with the foreign university is to introduce the new concepts of research in the IT and telecommunication field. The BTH University is the popular one in Sweden in the IT and telecommunications and it had helped the Sweden country to develop a lot in the information technology filed. The other main reason is that the university is giving tough competition in the fields like telecommunication, internet networking issues, mobile technology, networking securities, network
management and software development etc.
