Details of the intermediate open course | What are the subjects in the intermediate open course?
There are open courses for the degree and M.Sc and the government had introduced the open course for the intermediate. There is no need to attend the college everyday and they can write the exams by studying at home. The notification is given by the higher education council and those who are 15 years old and completed tenth are eligible for this course. They are introducing from 2010-2011 and the specialty of the course is that the people who are settled in the jobs can do these course and complete their study. They are changing the syllabus as pre the requirements of the jobs in the industries.
The Andhra Pradesh open school society had introduced this course and the syllabus is prepared by the national institute of open schooling. There will be three groups in open intermediate. In group A, there will English, Urdu, Hindi, Telugu, Kanada and Marathi. In group B, there will be mathematics, physics, chemistry, biology, Botany, History, Political science, Economics, Business studies, Accountancy, Civics, Commerce and Mass communication. In group C, there will be water management, furniture making, electroplating, housekeeping, catering, food processing, poultry, farming, commerce, accountancy, marketing, auto mobile, TV modern communication process, building construction, apparel fashion designing, early childhood, graphics, animation, multimedia, tourism, dental health education, medical and surgical condition.
The candidate can select any subjects from three groups and there will be contact classes in every week. There will be exams twice a year and the course will be conducted in the form of credits instead of marks. The course registration fee is Rs.200 and the tuition fee for the 5 subjects is Rs.1,100. there will be Rs.200 for every extra subject and there is fee concession for the SC, ST and handicapped people.
