Eligibility for BITSAT and the exam pattern followed in the admission test conducted by BITS

Eligibility for BITSAT is minimum of 80% marks in +2

Candidates having at least 80% marks in intermediate are eligible for BITSAT. At least 60% marks should be present in individual subjects such as mathematics, chemistry and physics. This rule is intended for giving admission only for meritorious students.

150 questions to be answered in three hours of BITSAT

In BITSAT online test, three hours will be given for 150 questions in four sections. Details of sections and questions are given below.

Part I Physics 40 questions
Part 2 Chemistry 40 questions
Part 3 A – English proficiency 15 questions
B – logical reasoning 10 questions
Part 4 Mathematics 45 questions

There is no time limit based on the sections and this will be beneficial for students. In the total of 150 questions, students can get started with any question. There is no need to follow serial order in answering the questions. There is another specialty. Those who have completed answering given 150 questions in the given time can answer additional 12 questions. But the students who have selected these extra 12 questions will lose the chance to edit the previous 150 answers. Since there is negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer, experts say not to go for those extra questions without rechecking the previous 150 questions. Marks can be obtained on the computer screen as soon as the exam time is completed. Questions, for which wrong answers are given, are detailed on the computer screen.
