Doctors are necessary to test the diseases of animals and to relieve them. They are called veterinary doctors. Aspects like animal psychology, different diseases, preventive measures and other aspects are taught in this course. Along with curing different diseases seen in animals, subjects of scientific breeding are also taught in this course.

They can start their career in government or private veterinary clinics, animal protection centers, zoological parks, diary farms and sheep farming centers. Andhra Pradesh state government has established Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University in 2006 to provide quality education in the subjects of veterinary, diary and fishery sciences.

BVSC and AH (Veterinary sciences and Animal Husbandry)
Total numbers of seats are 220 and the duration of the course is five years. Candidate who have passed intermediate with physical science, biological or natural sciences as subjects are eligible. Age of the candidate should be in between 17 and 22 years of age. SC and ST candidates can have the relaxation of 25 years. Admissions are given based on the rank in EAMCET. Candidates should score at least 50% marks (40% for SC/ST candidates) in EAMCET.
