First ad agency in India | How advertisements started?

We all know that the news paper released in India in hikkis Bengal is the first news paper in 1780 and this paper was prepared by James Augustus hikki on January 29th during the east India rule. He came to understand that it is a costly thing to print even though he printed them with enthusiasm in the starting. Then he got an idea to advertise and earn money to support the paper printing. In the beginning the ads were very simple and they are printed in the classifieds column.  The ads in the hikkis paper were mostly related to the medicine field and there were no medical shops during that time. The medicine prepared by the doctors or few tips were given in the classifieds to increase the sale.

And slowly the details of the things sold in the shops are given in the classifieds and they are mostly given keeping in the irova people in mind. This is because they had the habit of getting the things through mail orders. It had taken 120 years for the companies to know that they can get closer to the customers by advertising. Then the first ad agency in India was established by B.Dattaram. So it did not take more time to know that the Dattaram’s business was running in profits. And in 1920, the Gujarat advertisement company had been started. And after that, many national, international and multi national companies are started.
