UPSC conducts this test to recruit special class railway apprentice in mechanical department of Indian Railway. Age of the applying candidate should be in between 17 years and 21 years. Candidates should have passed intermediate in first class or second class with mathematics as one of the subjects.
After completing B. Sc or engineering with MPC in intermediate, one can appear for civil services. Some core subjects in engineering are present as options. Other candidates who have command over mathematics subjects can also take up these options and can succeed easily. There are many candidates who have got success in civil services exam, by concentrating on civils right from the completion of B. Sc. Notification for civils will be released in the month of December every year. Prelims will be conducted in May, while mains are conducted in October- November months.
