Highest paid employee of India – V. Vaidyanathan | Salary of V. Vaidyanation offered by Future Capital Holdings, is Rs. 50 crores

VaidhyanathanIf asked who the highest salaried person in India is, immediately the name of Mukesh Ambani comes as the answer.  But the correct answer is V. Vaidyanathan.  Many people may not believe this but it is true.

V. Vaidyanathan who was with ICICI Prudential life Insurance till recently has joined the Future Capital Holdings which is under the leadership of Kishore Biyani.  It may not be believable but the Future Capital Holdings offered Vaidyanathan Rs. 50 Crores package.  This is two times more than the Mukesh Ambani’s annual salary.  This package is more by Rs.10 crores when compared to Kalanidhi Maran of Sun TV.  Vaidyanthan has been given 20 lakhs Future Capitl Holding warrants.  These can be converted in to shares in future.  These shares were priced at Rs.237 on the day the agreement was signed.  That means the value of 20 lakh warrants come to around Rs.47.40 crores.  These can be converted in to shares in February at Rs.237 per share.  Or these can be converted as bonus shared after 18 months in February 2012.  If Vaidyanathan opts for the second option, even an increase of Rs.1 in the price of the Future Capital Holdings will bring him and extra Rs.20 lakhs.  Vaidyanthan has taken the charge of CEO of Future Capital Holdings on 10.08.2010.
