Bonsai

The meaning of the bon in Japan is pot without depth and the meaning of the word sai is plants which look like trees. These plants require sunlight whole year and we can grow the normal trees available in the nurseries as bonsai plants. There won’t be changes genetically and there will be changes in the way of growing and cutting them. We can’t grow all the plants as bonsais. They only grow the plants which live for 100 years like mango, tamarind, pomegranate, blackberry etc as bonsais. We can’t change the plants with big leaves or plants like coconut, neem etc into bonsais. We should grow the normal plants for 2 to 3 years very carefully to grow it into a complete bonsai tree. We should grow the bonsai trees in the same way as a tree grows in nature. To know the quality of the bonsai trees, we should place the tree near a wall. After placing it, we should see the tree from backside with the help of a torch. If the tree looks like a big tree, then it is good quality bonsai. The quality of the bonsai is decided by experts and the trays used for these should be different. They should use the ceramic trays which are in the color of nature.

Six types of bonsais:

Formal upright style:

They grow this type straight in the upwards direction and any plants like mango, tamarind can be grown.

Informal upright style:

The trunk is rotated and looks very attractive. The Japanese plants are very good for his type of growth.

Slanting style:

They grow the plants with 45 degrees tilt and they use only particular plants to grow on this style.

Broom style:

The plants grown in this style look like umbrella and the tamarind plants are used to grow in this style.

The twintrunk multiple style and cascade style plants look like the Bogan villa plants and they are convenient to the plants.

First, we need to grow any type of plant in normal pot and then they should transfer it to the ceramic pot after one year. They should bend the plant in any of the above styles with the help of a wire and they require patience for the growth of these plants. The bonsai plants won’t grow immediately and the housewives can grow these plants after taking the training for 4 days. The prices of the bonsai plants will be according to their age and the people are getting attracted towards the bonsais to gift them to anyone. Their starting price is Rs.100 and those who want to grow the plants at home for employment can start with the fichus type of plants.
