Unique Identification Authority of India that is issued to all the residents of India. The candidates who have applied for Aadhaar card will have to go through biometric scanning of fingerprints and iris. The photograph or the applicant will be taken and an enrolment number will be given to them. Aadhaar number is usually allotted in twenty to thirty days depending on various enrolment agencies.

Local media will advertise the process to get Aadhaar card and the residents in that area shall go to the enrolment camp for registration. Every individual residents of India who satisfied the verification process will be issued an Aadhaar card. All the numbers that are issued will be saved in a centralized database along with the basic demographics, biometric information, fingerprints, iris and photograph.

Enrolment fee for obtaining Aadhaar cards is free. The candidates can go to any Aadhaar enrolment center across India with the certificates of identification proof and address proof. Election photo ID card, Ration card, driving license and passport serve as the certificate of identify and address proof. For identify proof, Photo ID card and PAN card are accepted. Water, electricity bill, telephone bills are other documents that serve as identity proofs. Persons who do not have the above can also submit the certificate of identity with photo issued by the gazette officer/Tehsildar.

Based on the details provided by the applicant, the details will s verified by the authorized persons. If found nothing wrong, the Aadhaar number will be generated and mailed to the address of the applicant.
