Hyderabad Metro Rail Route MapHyderabad Metro Rail will be the first elevated city transport system that will solve the problems of transportation and traffic problems of residents of Hyderabad.  This is one of the largest projects in the world.

Total distance covered by Metro Railway project would be around 71.6 km in first phase and the track will be constructed on huge concrete pillars in the middle of the existing roads of Hyderabad.  Stations will be located for every kilometer.

Metro Rail project will take up works in three routes in the first phase.

Route 1: Starting station of the Line 1 of Hyderabad Metrorail is Miyapur and the last station would be Chaitanyapuri.  Total distance covered will be 28 km.  This line passes through JNTU College, KPHB Colony, Kukatpally, Balanagar, Moosapet, Bharat Nagar, Erragadda, ESI Hospital S.R.Nagar, Ameerpet, Punjagutta, Erra Manzil, Khairatabad, Sachivalayam, Vidhan Sabha, Nampally, Gandhi Bhawan, Medical College, Malakpet, New Market, Moosaram Bagh and Dilsukhnagar.

Route 2: Line 2 of Metro rail is from Jubilee Bus Stand to Falaknuma covering a distance of 14 km. Stations covered are B S station, Secunderabad, Gandhi Hospital, Ram Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Chikkadpally, Narayanguda, Sultan Bazaar, Salarjung Museum, Charminar, Shali Banda, Shamsheergunj and Jungametta.

Route 3: Third route of Hyderabad metro rail is Habsiguda to Shilparamam.  This route passes through stations like Tarnaka, Lalaguda, Mettuguda, Secunderabad, Parade Grounds, Paradise, Rasoolpura, Prakash Nagar, Begumpet, Ameerpet, Madhura Nagar, Yousufguda, Jubilee Check Post, Peddamma Temple, Madhapur and Hitech City. Route 3 covers a distance of 21 km.

Proposals are there for introducing smart card automatic ticketing system for passengers and when completed this would be a reason of pride for the people of Hyderabad.
