Important dates for IISER admissions and scholarship details offered in IISER | Nature of Science aptitude test conducted for direct admission into IISER

  • Applications are available from the last week of April or last week of May, 2011 to apply based on KVPY results.
  • Applications based on IIT- JEE are available from June first week to last week in 2011.
  • Direct admission will be done based on science aptitude test. These applications are available from middle of the June, 2011 till first week of July.
  • The applications should be applied only through online. The application fee for the OBC/ general category students is Rs.500 and it is Rs.250 for SC and ST students.

Scholarships in IISER:
students who joined in IISER are helped financially and they can get the inspire and KVPY scholarships.

Innovation in science pursuit for inspired research scholarship:

Indian government is offering the Department of Science and Technology Inspire Scholarship to encourage the students to do research in natural science field and to bring out their talent. Students who get admissions into IISER are given Rs.5000 every month and they are also given a contingency grant of Rs.20,000 per year. Kishore Vygyanic Prostahan Yojan scholarship:

Department of Science and Technology had introduced the KVPY scholarships in 1999 to encourage the students in engineering, basic sciences and medicine. Students who are joined in IISER through KVPY are given Rs.5000 per month as scholarship.

Gold medals given in IISER:

Students who get more marks in all the semesters and who have more than 9.0 CPI are given golden medals.

IISER science aptitude test:

Science aptitude test is the test which is conducted for the direct admissions into BS- MS dual degree program. One paper should be attended by the students and questions will be asked in 11th or 12th standard levels from physics, chemistry, biology and mathematics. There will be five questions from each subject and student should answer 20 questions in total. The duration of the exam is 2 hours.
