Indian Institute of Science to introduce Bachelor of Science course from next year | Qualification, application method admission for Bachelor of Science from IIS

Qualification: Candidates who finished 12th or equivalent course with Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as the main subjects.

Application procedure: Notification for BS program will be released in December, 2010.  Applications will be accepted between 1st January, 2011 and 31st March. 2011.

Admission:  110 students will be admitted in the first batch.  Admission procedure will be completed in 3 stages.  KVPY candidates will be given importance in the first two stages. Counselling will be held for these candidates in the first week of April, June of 2011. Others will have counselling in the third week of June, 2011.

Speciality:  The aim of BS course is to provide the student with vast knowledge in Science and Engineering.  Scientific and Mathematics knowledge is required to solve various types of problems.  So the curriculum of the course is designed to provide the student with such knowledge.  Syllabus is also equal to MSc degree.  Candidates can pursue PhD in their specialization or in the related field.  Engineering credit is a total of 18 credits.  This is divided into hard, soft core.  9 credits are allotted to each core.

Hard core:  Computing, Electronics Instrumentation, Data Analysis. Semester – 1: Algorithm and Programming. Semester -2: Electrical and Electronics Engineering Introduction.  Semester – 3: Scientific Computing.  Semester 4 – 6 will have these subjects in various branches of Engineering in soft core.  Vast syllabus will be there in Analysis and Design.
