Intermediate Syllabus Change | Modified Inter Syllabus Will Be Implemented In 2012-13

Intermediate Syllabus is going to be changed. Intermediate board has declared to change the syllabus as per the Joint Educational Program proposed by the Union of All Indian Higher Secondary Educational Institutions. The new changes are going to be implemented from the academic year 2012-13. As students are joining in various courses after intermediate through national level competitive exams, the union is trying hard to prepare the syllabus accordingly.

  • Mathematics: All the current topics will be kept untouched and some more will be added to the current syllabus.
  • Physics: 90% of the current syllabus will be untouched and an additional 30% syllabus is going to be added to it.
  • Chemistry: 98% of the current syllabus is going to be changed
  • Botany: The current syllabus is little higher that the upcoming one but some of the current chapters may be removed.
  • Zoology: All the topics except Human Anatomy are going to be included in the new syllabus.

Intermediate board has claimed that current physics syllabus is found to be heavy for most of the students and thus declared to decrease the complexity of the syllabus in the upcoming edition.

As per the guidelines of Intermediate Board the syllabus should be changed once in every five academic years in Andhra Pradesh. The last change was done in 2007-08 for Inter first year and 2008-09 for Inter second year. Thus changes will be made for first year syllabus in 2012-13.

There are a total of 14 subjects in the current academic pattern of Arts and Science groups at Intermediate. Government is going to discuss with Krishna Kumar Committee on the examination patterns of Intermediate and 10th class. English syllabus of Inter first year has been changed in the academic year 2010-11 thus the second year’s going to be changed in 2011-12.
