Is it true that 70% weightage for intermediate marks in IIT admissions? | Committee suggests to implement new entrance test to be conducted in the place of IIT JEE

Are there any revolutionary changes that are going to take place in the prestigious Indian Institute of Technologies? Are there any chances to conduct another special entrance test in the place of present IIT-JEE entrance test? One may answer yes to the above questions when the suggestions given by the related committee are observed. This committee is imposed by central ministry for human resources for the analysis of admissions in IITs and other methods. This committee has suggested giving 70% weightage for intermediate marks and 30% for the score in aptitude test conducted. According to this, a list is supposed to be prepared based on 70% weightage for inter marks and 30% weightage for the score in aptitude. Based on it, 40,000 students are going to be short listed and a special entrance test will be conducted for these candidates. The proposed aptitude test is also suggested to be conducted uninterruptedly all along the year. In this test, questions based on reasoning, numerical ability, communication skills will be asked. The committee has recently submitted the report containing above recommendations, to the central minister for human resources.
