Job Fair in Government Banks
There are a large number of recruitments in the Government sector banks (PSU) and there are around 40,000 (approx) vacancies in the PSU’s which became vacant by the retirement, resignations and by other reasons. Among all the governmental banks there are around 19,000 vacancies in State Bank of India Group only. In the present financial year the SBI is planning to recruit around 13,000 employees for various posts. The reason for this huge number of vacancies is the expansion of various banks in the country and the process of recruitment in the PSU is a common thong according to the banking sector. It takes a long period of time for the recruitment process which is done by the Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS). If by chance there is any delay in the process of recruitment and vacancies, that effect can be seen on the working of the banks.
Mostly in the SBI Group
There are in total around 6,72,000 employees in all the PSU banks in the country and it is only in SBI there are around two lakhs of employees and even the recruitment is also high in the SBI group only this year. In the same way when thinking about other banks like Bank of Baroda with 3000, United Bank of India with 1500, Andhra Bank with 1000 and Indian Bank with around 700 posts are recruited in various posts. According to the statistics of the Department of the Financial Services, there are around 3000 vacancies in the banks like Central Bank of India and Syndicate Bank and others. And coming to the banks like Indian Bank, UCO, Punjab and Sind, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Bank of Baroda and other banks there are around 1000 vacancies in each bank and in the banks like IDBI, Corporation Bank, Bank of Maharashtra, Indian Overseas Bank and many more had already completed the recruitment process. In the year 2008-09 nearly 55,000 employees are recruited according to the statistics of the PSU banks. The IBPS already estimated that there will be around 30,000 vacancies by the year 2009-10. As the increase in the number of policies and principles the new vacancies are increasing the statistics by the Banking sector.
