MBBS exam is one of the exams which are having more competition among the competitive exams. Seats for the MBBS course are limited and it is expensive to complete the course. AFMC is offering free MBBS course for the students and it is enough to qualify in the entrance exam which is conducted by AFMC. In many surveys, AFMC stood in 2nd or 3rd positions. There are good facilities along with quality education and students who complete MBBS in AFMC should do service as doctor in navy, army or air force.

More number of students is selected from Andhra Pradesh but they are not interested in joining AFMC as they should write a bond to work in military for 3 years after completion of MBBS course in AFMC. There is more number of opportunities to do PG if the students complete MBBS course in AFMC. Doctors who complete their 7 years of service in AFMC are given more salaries and they are being hired by top companies. More importance is given to  training in AFMC and experience of the doctors.

MBBS Course offered by AFMC

MBBS course duration is 5 ½ years along with one year internship to the students. There are 130 seats in total in which 105 are for boys and 25 are for girls.

Eligibility for MBBS in AFMC

Students who complete intermediate with English, biology, chemistry and physics as the main subjects are eligible. They should have minimum of 60% marks and they should qualify intermediate in the first attempt. In each science subject, students should have minimum of 50% marks and in English, they should have minimum of 50% marks. Intermediate final year students can also apply for the course. Students who did B.Sc in any two subjects among physics, chemistry, biology and zoology after intermediate are also eligible.

Students should be of 17 years by December 31st, 2011 to apply for MBBS course in AFMC. They should not be more than 22 years. B.Sc students should be born before January 1st, 1988. Girls should be of 144cm in height and minimum of 36 kilos in weight. Boys should be 157.5cm or more in height and their weight should be a minimum of 39 kilos. There should not be any problems like eye sight or ear problems.


Important dates for AFMC exam

Applications can be obtained from December 20th, 2010 to January 21st, 2011. The last date for submission of the applications is February 7th, 2011.
