Medicines at cheapest prices -Â Jan Aushadi medical outlets are launched to sell the medicines at cheaper rates
Is it possible to make the medicines available at very cheap rates reachable to even the poor people?Â It has become possible by an idea given by a district collector of Maharashtra. Now, new medical shops under the name of â€˜Jan Aushadiâ€™ are being launched to offer medicines at cheaper rates. In the days where 10 paise medicines are sold at one rupee, Jan Aushadi medical out lets are expected to attract huge response. Lives saving medicines are priced in thousands of rupees only. Regardless of the presence of money, there is a necessity to buy them on doctorâ€™s prescription. Not only for the poor, even middle class people are also feeling burden in meeting their medical expenses.
Central government has got into action.Â It has started trials to sell the medicines at low prices regardless of the brand. Jan Aushadi shops are part of this implementation.
Pharmaceutical division of central government has taken up the responsibility of Jan Aushadi outlets. It has designed special medical shops which offer quality medicines at low prices. This plan of action is being implemented in many states nation wide in the first stage. Two centers are established in Andhra Pradesh also. One is been established at NIMS hospital, Hyderabad and the other one at Port Trust hospital, Visakhapatnam.
