Multiple e-ticket booking choice to passengers | Indian Railways Portal will start its services in the end of September
e ticket
Indian Railways is launching their own portal for the benefit of railway commuters to issue e-tickets.  There were many discrepancies with the method followed by IRCTC in issuing e-tickets in East Central Railway.  So Indian Railways is concentrating on starting own portal.  This portal will be started in the last week of September. Indian Railways has already taken back the catering service (Meals and Breakfast) from IRCTC and is taking up the service on its own, and now is getting ready to start its own web portal to issue e-tickets.

Passengers can book mail, express reservation tickets through the own website of Indian Railways (www. indianrailgov.in).  A latest technology is being linked to the portal so that there is no scope for any mismanagement in issuing of tickets or cancellation of tickets.  Indian Railways is expecting to make available this service to more passengers as 30% passengers are opting for e-tickets.  Indian Railways is thinking of providing multiple e-ticket booking choice to people.

Following a scam of e-tickets private agents were banned from issuing Tatkal tickets from 8 am to 9 am.  This ban was imposed on 8 lakh private agents country wide, as they were reserving Tatkal tickets and were selling them for high prices.
