National means cum merit scholarship scheme…. Eligibility, Exam Process, Last Date details

One lakh students are getting scholarships through this and the exam is conducted along with NCERT stage 1 test.

Eligibility: they should study 9th class in the national wide school and they should obtain 55% marks in eighth class. Their parent’s annual income should not be above Rs.1, 50,000. There is 5% reservation for SCs and STs.

Other rules:

The number of scholarships for each state is decided by the central government based on the number of admissions in 8th and 9th. A scholarship of Rs.500 is given to the 9th class students every month for 4 years. They will receive the scholarship for 4 years and the students should open a joint account in the state bank along with their parents. To renew the scholarship, the students should obtain 55% marks in 9th, 60% marks in 10th and 55% marks in intermediate first year. There will get an amount of Rs.1500 in their state bank account fro every three months. They should not leave the school without any authorized leave. They should not be working and should have good behavior. This is not applicable to the foreign students and at PG and certificate levels.

Exam process:

This exam is also same as the national talent search exam. This exam is conducted in all states by the respective authorities and it contains two parts which are mental ability test and scholastic ability test.

Mental ability test:

There are 90 objective questions in this and the questions are based on reasoning, number series, analogy, classification and non verbal reasoning.

Scholastic ability test:

There will be 90 objective questions and these are based on the maths, science and social studies subjects in 7th and 8th classes. The students are given 90 minutes time and they should obtain 40% marks in this test. The reservation candidates should obtain 32% marks in this test.
