Department of Science and Technology in Ministry of Sciences and Technology is offering inspire scholarship for higher education under the guidance of Indian government. It had released the notification for the scholarships.
Eligibility for inspire scholarships
Candidates who are studying B.Sc, M.Sc and integrated M.Sc in science and its related fields are eligible for the scholarship. Courses should be mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, earth science and life sciences. The total number of scholarships is ten thousand.
Selection process for inspire scholarships
Candidates who are capable under three sections will be considered for the inspire scholarships. They are
a)Â Â Â Â Â 1% of the students from the toppers in the central board and various state examinations in the tenth and intermediate levels.
b)Â Â Â Â Â Candidates who get below 10,000 rank in AIEEE or IIT-JEE
c)Â Â Â Â Â Candidates who are selected for the KVPY or who got medals in the Olympiads or candidates who are doing their five year integrated courses in the IITs, IISER, NISER, Atomic Energy Center for Basic Sciences are eligible.
Selected candidates will be given Rs.80,000 per year and this scholarship will continue for the next five years based on academic record of the candidate.
Application process for inspire scholarships
Applications will be available in the website and required certificates should be attached to them. These certificates and application should be sent to â€˜Director, National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies, Dr. K. Krishnan Marg, New Delhi â€“ 110012.
