NRCA Examination details: Analysis of NRCA model question paper pattern | Recommended books list

There will be three papers and the exam is conducted for a total of 600 marks.

Paper 1: General ability test:

The exam is for 200 marks and they will ask the questions based on the general knowledge, English and personality and the duration of the examination is two hours. They should know the basic rules and grammar in the general English and they should try to increase their vocabulary. They should concentrate on the antonyms, synonyms and correction of the sentences. They should study the high school English books to improve this knowledge in the English subject.

They will ask the questions on environment, animals-species, plants –types etc in the general knowledge category and the questions will be based on the basic knowledge on the surroundings. They should study the Indian history and important issues during the freedom struggle and the Indian constituency. They should study the high school English, science and social studies books to qualify the general knowledge part easily. There will be questions on the candidate’s basic intelligence and mechanical aptitude in the part B in the same paper. There will be questions on the current affairs also and they should study the changes that took place in the previous year.

Paper 2: Physics:

The paper will be for 200 marks and the question will be based on the physical sciences and chemistry. They should concentrate on the issues in intermediate physics and they should study the topics like light, time and mass, straight line motion, velocity, Newton’s law of motion, work, energy etc. in chemistry, they should study the topics like chemical reactions, bonding, energy changes in chemical reaction, solutions , electro chemistry, oxidation and reduction, natural and artificial radioactive elements etc. they should know the group elements and metallurgical processes in inorganic chemistry. They should study the halogen derivatives, hydroxyl compounds, ethers and nitro components.

Paper 3: Mathematics:

This exam is for 200 marks and for two hours of duration. They should study every topic in the intermediate mathematics from algebra to integration. They should practice more and the paper will be in objective type. So they should practice in such a way that they will know the key points in the question and answer them quickly.

They should know the units, symbols and other formulae in the maths, physics and chemistry subjects. There is negative marking and they should think once before they answer the questions. They can easily qualify the exam if the candidates attend the EAMCE, AIEEE and IIT-JEE etc and other competitive exams. There are 3 ½ months for the exam and so they easily get success in the exam if they practice for 8 hours daily. They should concentrate on the topics which they left for choice in the intermediate level. There will be negative marking and one mark is cut for every four wring answers. They should be far from the elimination process to succeed in the examination and they should study the standard material during the preparation time. They should study the material and previous questions papers during the revision time.  This will help a lot during the exams.
