Obtain domicile certificate in Uttar Pradesh

 

Additional District Magistrate/SDM authorised by DM are the authorities for issuing domicile certificate in Uttar Pradesh.  Domicile certificates are useful for getting admission in any educational institutions and also to get jobs.

Domicile certificate is issued in Uttar Pradesh for persons whose parents are permanent residents of the state. Applicants who are residing in concerned district for a period of three years can also obtain domicile certificate.

Persons who are in government or non-government service whose job is transferable can submit any of the following to get domicile certificate in Uttar Pradesh.

  • Certificate issued by Gram Panchayat/Chairman, Nagar Panchayat/Employer etc
  • Driving licence
  • Ration Card
  • Voter ID card
  • Passport
  • House tax or water tax receipt
  • Electricity bill
  • PAN card

Domicile certificate in Uttar Pradesh has to be applied in Form 1 in duplicate.  Two passport size photographs are to be submitted along with the application.  One photograph will be pated on the application and the other will be kept in government records.  Verification letter in any one of the following formats has to be submitted by the applicant.

  • Member of Parliament
  • Gazetted officer
  • Chairman, Nagar Panchayat
  • Member of Legislative Assembly
  • Chairman, Zila Panchayat
  • Branch Manager, Nationalised Bank

Domicile certificate in Uttar Pradesh are issued to the applicant within one month from the application is received if the application is found to be in order.  Application can be downloaded from the website.  No fee is charged by the authorities for issuing domicile certificate.
