For obtaining marriage certificates in Himachal Pradesh, all the Indian citizens are eligible and the age of bride should be 18 years and grooms age shall be 21 years.

Obtaining a marriage certificate in Himachal Pradesh is possible for the marriage ceremonies that actually have taken place. The bride and the bridegroom shall submit an application jointly in the prescribed application format to the Marriage Officer or SDM. Along with the bride and bridegroom shall bring two witnesses to the Marriage office. Along with the joint application, the date of birth certificates of the bride and bridegroom shall also be enclosed to the application. Residence proof certificate of the bride shall also be enclosed.

There is no need to pay any fee to obtain marriage certificate in Shimla, Kullu, Dharmashala in Himachal Pradesh if the marriage is registered within one month from the date of marriage. Rs. 10 is charged if the marriage certificate is obtained within three months. Rs. 50 has to be paid if the certificate is obtained after three months of marriage. In such cases the issuing authority of marriage certificate in Himachal Pradesh is the Deputy Commissioner.
