Opportunities for Graduates and Post graduated in Indian Navy… Selection procedure

The Indian Security Service offers employment with good salary, incentives and other benefits.

Many technical and non-technical executive jobs are available for candidates of 10th passed to post graduates.  The Indian Navy which is recruiting candidates regularly has given a notification for the recruitment of Air Traffic Controller posts.  These are posts of Executive Branch.  The course starts from January 2011.

The recruitments of Air Traffic Controllers conducted by Service Selection Board comes under Short Service Commission.  Service Duration is 10 years.  It can be extended up to 4 years depending on the interest, work, need of the service of the candidate.  Professional, leadership qualities and discipline acquired during the service will be helpful in starting a new career.

Selection Procedure:

  • SSB selects the candidates depending on the merit shown  in the entrance test.  Interviews will be held for the candidates shortlisted, in Bangalore, Bhopal anad Coimbatore.  These will be held in August-November.
  • There will be an intelligence test.  Candidates who got through these test has to undergo a psychological test, group test and interviews, and the SSB will release the list of selected  candidates after conducting a medical test.
  • Selected candidates will be appointed as Sub lieutnant officers and will be sent to Indian Naval Academy, Kerala for the Naval Orientation Course.  Full salary, allowances will be paid to the officers during the training.
  • After finishing the training, the candidates will have to work two years as probationers.  The canadidates who get married, or leave the course in the middle will have to pay back the salary and allowances taken till date.
  • The selected candidates can be posted anywhere in the country as Air Traffic Controllers by the ATC.
  • One can start the career as a Sub Lieutnant and become a commander during the service. The salary and allowances for a commander is more than  Rs.70,000/- per month as of today.
  • The selected candidates are eligible for free accommodation, health services , canteen, ration, mess, sports facilities, car/house loans etc.,  Group insurance, Gratuity facilities are also available.
