Parents and Teachers can not punish the children | Punishment can be imprisonment and fine too

Teachers, parents and elders who manhandle children if the children do not listen to them, do not study or finish their homework should think twice before punishing them. Otherwise they will land up in the jail. Central parliament is introducing a bill intended to check crimes on children.  Incidents like suicides by children who face humiliation in the form of punishments by teachers can be heard frequently. Incidents like children getting injured by the thrashing of teachers are also heard. The number of parents and elders who thrash mischievous children at home is no less.

If the bill is made a law children can file cases on parents, teachers or other people who punish them physically.   Punishment of one year imprisonment and fine of Rs.5,000 can be imposed for first time.  If it is repeated the punishment could be three years imprisonment and fine of Rs.25,000.  This law is  already in force in some states of America.
