Pattern of Question Paper of Banka PO’s Examination | Tips to Candidates for PO Exam Preparation

Reasoning:   the questions will be framed to test the candidates Analytical and Problem Solving skills.  The questions will be framed from the topics like Non – Verbal reasoning, Venn – diagrams, Cubes, Letter series, Number Series, Analogy, Coding and De – coding, Strong and Weak statements, syllogism.

Quantitative Aptitude:   questions   in this section are from Numerical Ability, Mathematical calculations.  The topics include Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, Graph and Table Reading, Percentage Analysis, Categorization, Quantitative Analysis.

English: the questions will be asked from the topics like Grammar, Vocabulary (Meanings and opposite words), fill in the blanks, identifying the wrong word in the sentence, arranging the given sentences in the proper order and so on.

General Awareness:  the questions can be asked from the topics like Persons, incidents, awards, tourisms, business agreements, Current Affairs ( National and International), important financial and economic news, Budget, Five year plans, who is who, sports, books and their authors, awards and honors,  science and inventions, abbreviations, important days, national and international organizations.

  • There will be cut – off marks section wise.  So equal importance is to be given for all the sections.
  • The candidate should have command in English grammar.
  • The candidate has to practice essay writing well.
  • Accuracy must be there while doing mathematical problems.
  • For some of the questions, the answers can be sort through option elimination.
  • The candidate must have command on mathematics till 10th standard level.
  • The candidate has to learn at least three English words a day.
  • The candidate has to answer more number of questions within a short span of time.  So, the student must have command on speed mathematics. (It is better to byheart the squares up to 100 and cubes up to 30).
  • Most of the questions in General Awareness are asked from current affairs only.  So, the candidate has to remember the issues like important incidents, awards, agreements, tourisms and so on before last year.
  • Every day the candidate has to read any one of the English news paper.
  • In the examination, the candidate has to spend less time for English and General awareness and remaining time the candidate has to deal with reasoning and aptitude.
  • As there is a negative marking, the candidate should not guess the answers.  The candidate can answer the question which he feels correct for the remaining two options when the rest of the three options are wrong.
  • The candidate has to write mock exams as many as possible.  It is better to appear for the mock exams   after completing the revision of whole syllabus.
