Prithviraj Chauhan’s Bravery and Archery Talent

Even being the last king of the Chauhan dynasty, Prithvi Raj Chauhan is a great ruler. His bravery and archery talent in which he has specialization of hitting the target even made blind, amazes even now also. In 1911 Mohammed Ghori attacked Prithviraj Chauhan’s kingdom and witnessed a defeat. But Prithviraj Chauhan didn’t attack on Ghori’s army and left them with mercy since it is not correct to attack the enemy when he is running away, according to the Rajput tradition. But Ghori has again attacked the Prithviraj and defeated him. Ghori has turned Prithviraj into blind by piercing hot iron rods into his eyes. But Prithviraj didn’t loose his braveness. One day Ghori conducted an archery contest. Prithviraj also participated in that contest. Being blind also, Prithviraj used to win the contest with his exceptional talent. Attracted by his performance, Ghori has praised the skill of Prithviraj. Then, Prithviraj has released an arrow in the direction of that voice. That arrow was successful in killing Ghori since it was targeted accurately. In this way, Prithviraj has taken his revenge. Because the enemies around them will won’t leave, Prithviraj and his friend Chand Bardai have killed each other. In that way, Prithviraj also died in 1192. But the victories of Prithviraj Chauhan are preserved in the books ‘Prithviraj Raso’ written by Chand Bardai and ‘Prithviraj Vijay’ written by Jayanak.
