The rubber industry is increasing and expanding every year. Reclaimed rubber can be prepared from waste rubber products.

The production of rubber products is ten lakh tones every year. The market value of rubber is Rs.36, 960 crores. The percentage of rubber usage in the tyres company is 59%. The use of natural rubber is 75% and synthetic rubber is 25%.

The problem with rubber wastage:

The rubber wastage is up to 6 lakh tones from vehicle tyres and 1.5 lakh tones from other rubber products. The problems are arising due to this wastage and recycling can be done to produce new products. We can change the useless rubber into powder with the help of mixers, grinders etc. we can add some chemicals to this powder and make this as rubber sheets. These rubber sheets can be used for preparing all types of products and this is called reclaimed rubber. The products are also formed with rubber and reclaimed rubber combinedly. The waste rubber across the world is formed as reclaimed rubber and used.

Usage of reclaimed rubber:

The reclaimed rubber is used in all the products and they are mostly used in tyres, rubber sheets, tiles, mats and tubeless tyres.

Demand for reclaimed rubber:

India is standing in the fourth position in the production of rubber and 35 thousand varieties of rubber products from 6 thousand industries. The usage of reclaimed rubber is 6-8% and the reclaimed rubber is exported to countries like America, Japan, Malaysia, Germany, France, Spain and Brazil. The rubber production is 86,390 tones for 2008-09. It is increasing from 8-10%.

The estimated cost of the reclaimed rubber industry is Rs.20 lakhs which can produce 2 tones per day.
