Research associate ship in life sciences offered by Central Biotechnological Department (CBD)| Eligibilities to obtain fellowship or associate ship granted by Central Biotechnological Departemnt

Central Biotechnological department offers various kinds of fellowships for  the candidates aspiring to conduct researches in biotechnology and life sciences. From PG level to PhD level, and for the research courses taken up after that also, financial help is provided in different forms. For the purpose of researches in advanced aspects of biotechnology, DBT Research associate ships (RAs) are initiated. Candidates who have done PhD in Sciences or engineering or M.D/ M. S in any specialization, are eligible to apply for these research associate ships. Applicants should have interest in applied biology and biotechnology researches.

After attaining PhD/ M. D/ M. S degree in the related subjects, applicants can be selected for associate ship within three years. Women can  obtain RA within five years. Those who are awaiting the results of thesis can also apply.

Duration of RA is two years. Based on the talent of the candidate, and working, it can be extended up to 5 years.  Selected candidates will be provided Rs. 22,000 to Rs. 24,000 as fellowship. Selections will be done based on bio data sent by the candidates and then by interviews. Interviews will be held in Indian Institute of Sciences, Bengaluru in the month of November. Along with the bio data, candidate has to sent two important published papers, recommendation letters, place and institute  at which they wish to conduct researches, to IISC, Bengaluru.
