Railways issued a notification for the posts of RPF and RPSF constable posts for the candidates who passed 10th class. This is the wonderfully for the unemployed youth who passed just 10th standard to join in a government job.  There are in total 263 vacancies for these posts all over the country and around six lakhs above candidates applied for this post which is an interesting issue that happened never before.  Among these 6 lakhs odd candidates approximately two lakhs odd belongs to our state only. The main reason of such a big competition is due to the modifications that are done in the salaries of central government employees which attracted the unemployed youth to apply for this post.  All aperients can crack the target of getting eligible for the job if and only if the prepation is done according the systematic schedule.

The selection procedure for the posts of RPF and RPSF is done in various stages. The first and the foremost test is 1600 meters running race and after completing that the second round commences which is the Physical events test which is tentatively conducted on March, 2010. The candidates who are eligible in the second test are supposed to appear for the written exam which is conducted in May, 2010 approximately.  The candidates who are eligible in the written test have to attend the last test but not the least test is the interview. After completion of study certificates verification, additional score will be given to the aspirants those who have NCC Certificate and Sports certificate.  The candidates who selected in interview has to undergo a training program for a period of Nine months. During their training period, the candidates are given Rs. 5200/- besides Rs. 2000/- towards allowances.

Important issues for Written Test-Model paper

The written test is conducted for 100 marks with 100 questions and the duration is 2 hours. The candidates have to very careful in appearing for the written test as there is a danger of negative marking where 0.25 is the cut – off mark in this exam.  The question paper will be in English and Hindi Languages.


This questions from Arithmetic section contains the problems from elementary mathematical topics like Number Systems, Division problems, conditions, GCD, LCM, Decimal System, Account problems, Pecentages, Business related problems, Time and Distence, Rail frequency related problems, calculation of Simple Interest and Compound Interest, Calander, Mensuration and other areas.  One has to read the Formulas, Derivations and should the usage of a formula in order to answer the questions in Arithmetic section correctly and accurately.  One has to practice the questions from old question papers.

General Intelligence

This mental ability of the candidates is measured in this section.  This section contains the questions like identifying the relationship between words and analyze, Direction related problems, Relationships between persons, problems on Venn – diagrams, comparisons of the given figures, Number series, Ranking and so on.  To become perfect in this section one has to collect the previous question papers of Railway recruitment board and practice as many times  as possible. So that all the questions from this section will get clarity.

General English

The candidates need not to worry much about answering the question in General English because all the questions which are in this section will comes in 10th class standard.  Mainly General English section covers the topics like Similar Meaning Words or Synonyms, Opposite Words, One word Substitution, Tenses, Rearranging sentences, Voice, Reported Speech, Comprehension Passage, Prepositions.  To answer the questions perfectly from General English section one has to read and practice the Grammar related questions from  8th,9th, 10th standards. Even one can read the Basic grammar books also.

General Awareness

To get good score in General Awareness the candidate has to read the text books io fundamental stage.  Apart to text books one has to prepare and update their knowledge in the issues like International organizations, Awards, Games, Popular writers and their books, Central and State government public schemes, Indian Scientific and Technological Engineering,  Popular Days,  Physical names of different places, National High ways, Popular constructions, Indian railway rules and policies and schemes and so on to take the winning chance.
