SAMSKRUTI EXPRESS

The great works of and philosophy of Rabindranath Tagore can be visited in the mobile museum ‘Samskriti Express’.  ‘Samskriti Express’ is a mobile museum dedicated to Rabindranath Tagore by Indian Railways to marks the 150th birth anniversary celebrations of the poet.

‘Samskriti Express’ the exhibition-on-wheels is a fully air conditioned 5 coach train.

  • The first coach is named ‘Jibon Smriti’ and explains about the life sketch of the great poet through photographs.
  • Second coach is titles ‘Gitanjali’ and exhibits songs and poems of Tagore.
  • Third coach ‘Muktodhara’ displays the literature of Tagore.
  • Fourth coach ‘Chitralekha’ exhibits the paintings of Rabindranath Tagore and others.
  • The last and fifth coach is titled ‘Sesh Katha’ displays the photos of Tagore’s last journey. ‘Smaranika’ a small section exhibits and sells handicrafts and other items.

A cultural program will be organized at the Rail Nilayam Auditorium, Secunderabad on 29th September, 2010 at 04.00 o clock in the evening. Entry for exhibition is free. The mobile museum would reach Vijayawada on 25th September. 2010 and will stay there till 27th September, 2010 on Plot Form no.6. It is open for public from 10.00 am to 08.00 pm.

‘Samskruti Yatra’ mobile museum will stay at Secunderabad railway station from 28th September, 2010 to 1st October, 2010.
