Ramzan month spreads spirituality as well as influences every person to take care of their health with perfect diet.  After following Roza for the day time, nutritious food is taken at the time of Iftar which includes various fruits and Haleem.  Most of the people also like the ‘Sheer Korma’.    On the last day of this month, Muslims eat Sheer Korma before going to Id-ul-fitr prayers.  All the members of the family consume this sweet dish.  After finishing the prayers, this sweet dish is distributed to Hindu friends who wish them ‘Id-mubarak’.  ‘Sheer Korma’ is prepared in every Muslim household on the last day of Ramzan.

After following Roza for one month, consuming ‘Sheer Korma’ on the last day of Ramzan is a tradition.  This is made with vermicelli which is made with wheat.  Vermicelli is available in Ramzanrath Bazaar near Charminar and markets of old city of Hyderabad.  This brown and white coloured vermicelli can be seen in heaps in the markets of Meer-alam-mandi, Murgi chowk and Afzalgunz, Hyderabad.  Vermicelli rolls which weigh half kilogram each are available in the market.  Very thin vermicelli, thick vermicelli and salted vermicelli varieties are available.  Handmade salted vermicelli is   also available which costs Rs.100 per kilogram.

Roasted vermicelli is available for Rs.50 – 60 per kg.  There is a heavy demand for Dham-ka-semya and common vermicelli.  Sheer Korma is made with milk and other ingredients are vermicelli, dry fruits, almond, chironji, cashew, kishmish and Kharbuja seeds.  Vermicelli is roasted in ghee first, and then they are cooked in milk. Dry fruits and sugar are added to this mixture.  Muslims love to prepare this dish on normal days also.  Eating sweet dishes is a traditional practice of Muslims during Ramzan.
