Sindhu Valley Civilization

A great civilization had existed between 2700 BC to 1750 BC and this is called the Sindhu Valley Civilization. This is the ancient civilization which came into existence near the Ghaggar-Hakra River and Sindhu River which are presently in Pakistan. The name is given as Sindhu valley civilization because it became strong on the Banks of Sindhu River. It was first found in Harappa and so they call it as Harappa civilization also.  The other name for this civilization is Sindhu- Sarawathi civilization. The traces of the civilization were found in Afghanistan, Turkistan and Iran countries. The Sindhu civilization is a Bronze Age civilization and this is one of the ancient civilizations. Harappa civilization is the one in which development is done and they found the traces of this civilization in Harappa city in Punjab and Mohenjo-Daro in Sindh city.

Mohenjo-Daro gives the meaning as the place of dead. After that the traces of Harappa civilization were found in Rosar, Lothal, Kali Bangan and Bansali and this is mainly the city civilization. The people in this city were literates and their lipi used to be in the form of pictures. They had started the construction with good plan and they have used burnt bricks for their construction. The diggings related to this civilization were done in 1920 but the facts were known in 1999 only. There are different opinions as the language and regions are different.
