Solar Power Plant….. Development opportunities | Estimation of the Solar Power Plant project cost

The solar electricity is having a great demand in future. There are many deductions for the solar plants even though the set up is costly.

The electricity manufacturing capacity in our country is 1, 52,148 mega watts. In this the thermal electricity is 64.4%, hydel electricity is 24.7%, nuclear electricity is 2.9% and renewable electricity is 7.7%. The usage of electricity in the country is 543 units and it is 20% less than the world usage. The usage of the electricity in India is less and there is a great deficiency for electricity. Due to this deficiency, the industries, business people and normal people are facing problems.

Solar electricity:

The solar energy is one of the renewable energy and the solar electricity is manufactured from the suns heat. The electricity produced from solar energy is better for our country and the capacity of electricity produced in this way is 5000 trillion kilowatt hours. Since the cost of setting up a solar plant is more, the solar electricity is limited to 15 megawatts.

Solar power plants:

There is a need of 16-18 crores of money to set up a solar plant of one megawatt. The government is encouraging the Jawaharlal Nehru national solar mission which is having 11 kilowatt grid. Those who want to set up own business can set up a small solar plant.

  • The minimum capacity of photovoltaic power project is 25 kilowatts and maximum is 100 kilowatts.
  • There are facilities like using some amount on own purpose and remaining can be supplied to the grid. We should connect it with 11 kilowatt power.
  • We can set up these plants in all industries.

  • They will give subsidy of Rs.75000 or 30% deduction which ever is less for business companies.
  • There will be deduction of Rs.1, 00,000 or 40% which ever is less.
  • We can sell the electricity for Rs.18.45 as per the central electricity regulatory commission.
  • We can produce the electricity for 25 years.

Development opportunities:

The solar electricity will increase to 1000 megawatts by 2013, 3000 megawatts by 2017 and 20000 megawatts by 2022. The applications are invited by the government from companies to set up small photo voltaic solar power project by 2013 which gives up to 100 megawatts.

Estimation of the project:

  • The cost of 25 kilo watt solar electricity project is Rs.52.50 lakhs.
  • The estimated cost of 100 kilowatt project is Rs.1.80 crores.
