Make sure you are dialing 1909 number for the purpose of registering or deregistering with Do Not Disturb service on BSNL. Rather than sending SMS, some people prefer calling this number.

If you prefer sending SMS over calling 1909, type START DND and send it to the same number for registering with this service on BSNL. But for the purpose of resuming these calls on your phone, you have to send SMS stating STOP DND to 1909.
