Submission of birth certificate made compulsory for passport applicants | This rule applies for passport applicants who are born after 26th January, 1989
Secondary School Certificate marks memo was accepted as a birth proof for those who apply for passport. But now the applicant has to submit the birth certificated issued by the Panchayat/ revenue/ municipality. This is applicable to the persons, who are born after 26th January, 1989. Applicants born before this date can submit their SSC certificate as a proof. Even though this rule was formulated before a few months, as many people are not aware of this applicants who born after 1989 are also applying with the SSC certificate only. These applications are being rejected.
